About

Product designer in Copenhagen. Currently at Arbor, previously Halcyon and Studio Peil.

I grew up around printing presses — my grandmother ran a small letterpress shop outside Rotterdam — and I think that is why I ended up caring more about the spacing between things than about the things themselves.

I studied information design, spent a few years making websites for cultural institutions, and then went in-house because I wanted to find out what happens to a decision after it ships. It turns out that is where most of the work is.

These days I spend my time on design systems, which is a polite way of saying I spend it on naming, on documentation, and on talking people out of building a fourth kind of button.

Outside work I develop black-and-white film badly, run in the mornings, and am slowly learning Danish from a stack of index cards on the kitchen table.
